Sign up for summer camp

April 4th, 2009 by John Cutter · No Comments

Summer is almost here, and the Warren Acting Company will hold camps for two age groups — one for children 4 to 6 years old and the other for ages 7 to 18.

Camp will be divided into two session, one from June 15 to July 12, when we will perform “Bye, Bye Birdie, and the other from July 20 to Aug. 17, when we will perform “Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.”

For our older students, mornings are spent rehearsing for their full-length musical, which they will perform the last weekend of camp. Then afternoons are spent in smaller classes taught by guest artists. Last year, some of these classes included voice, dance, audition technique, improv and much more.

Camp for ages 7 to 18 will meet Monday to Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $325 per student per session.

The camp for 4 to 6 year olds is a great way to introduce younger children to the magical world of theater. Students will explore their creative sides through music, dance, arts and crafts, and they will present all their work in a recital for family and friends on the last weekend of each session.

The 4-6 year-old camp meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $275 per student per session.

To register please e-mail us at warrenactingcompany@yahoo.com, and we will send you an enrollment form to reserve your child’s spot. You would need to mail in this enrollment form along with a non-refundable $25 registration fee, and you will be all set.

If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail us at any time. See you this summer!

Brooke Sciscio
Brooke Sciscio will be the guest director of “The Bridge To Terabithia,” a special performance by members of the Warren Acting Company’s youth theater group.

Brooke received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College. After graduation, Brooke was a director with the children’s theatre she grew up with and then moved to New York City. She was in the original cast of “Cinderella’s Princess Court at the World of Disney 5th Avenue.” Currently, Brooke performs in “Finding Nemo: The Musical” at the Theatre in the Wild in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Brooke says she hopes that she can help young people experience the same joy that theatre has always brought to her!
